**Introduction**\

In today's world where a myriad of hobby and entertainment choices are proposed and catered to us every day, sports remains probably the only area of interest that anyone can at least relate to and even fall in love with. From the elite sports which date back to ancient Greece to a local street basketball league, sports play a substantial role in our social lives and entertainment.

Sportium was conceived with the goal of creating a platform that bridges sports to the upcoming, still uncharted area of the metaverse. Using the Sportium platform, sports teams, leagues, and any other relevant entities can easily enter the metaverse world, operate different types of products and fandom features, and build blockchain-based fan communities all leveraging their officially licensed intellectual properties (IP).&#x20;

Each IP can easily be onboarded to the Sportium ecosystem and instantly start offering their audience various features and utilities via the Sportium Decentralized Applications (DApps):
